Our Story
At my mom's house in North Carolina, there is a yellow coffee mug that I always use when I visit my childhood home. It's become a small, but powerful symbol of warmth, comfort, and familiarity. Opening The Yellow Mug was more than just opening a coffee shop for me, it was the realization of a long-held dream.
As a teenager, I was drawn to the idea of coffee as more than a beverage, but as a moment in time, and something that brings people together. I dreamed often of creating a space of my own, somewhere that I could share the warmth, comfort, and familiarity of that original yellow mug.
The Yellow Mug is a calm, welcoming space where community building and connection come first. Whether you are catching up with an old friend, building new friendships, or taking a quiet moment to yourself - this is your invitation to relax, sip slowly, and know that you belong.

First time here as a Crozet local and I can confidently say this is the best around! Coffee was amazing and the service was so kind and easy. All of the baked stuff looked delicious and fresh!!! Pricing is impeccable as well, nowhere near as expensive as other local places.

Very cute, yet small space. Perfect for meeting a friend to catch up, or having space to read/focus on work. Can be hard to find if you’re not paying attention. Parking is in the back. Be aware that if you have a low car, you may scrape on the way out. Staff friendly and plenty of options.
